Fixing Radio Interference on BMW LED Halo Rings and HID Conversion Kit

Kristin

Buying a new set of LED angel eyes for your BMW or an HID conversion kit for your car is quite an exciting experience since you get to upgrade your car for a fresh, new look. However, what happens when there’s a slight hiccup and you experience some unforeseen issues after installation? A very rare issue that occurs is radio interference or radio status that can be extremely frustrating. The good news is that there are several trouble shoots that you can attempt in order to fix this problem, giving you the opportunity to enjoy your LED angel eyes or HID kit without any annoyance. Keep in mind that these are extremely rare and isolated circumstances so it’s highly unlikely that you will encounter radio issues. This is a quick troubleshooting guide to help you sort of this problem in a few easy steps.

If you are experiencing radio interference, there are a few simple steps you can take to eliminate the issue. Mount or use some electrical wire to connect the decoder’s metal body and the car’s metal ground together. This will greatly eliminate any static that’s created. You can even try to use some aluminum foil straight out of your kitchen and properly cover it up by wrapping it thoroughly. These appear to be very simple steps, but they do a great job of getting rid of static interference. Sometimes, the best ways to fix an issue isn’t anything too complicated at all.

If you’re extremely unlucky and nothing you’ve tried seems to be working, you can exchange for a different product. In rare cases, sometimes a specific product just doesn’t seem to want to adhere to a particular vehicle so it’s best to swap it out for something similar. This usually solves the problem once and for all.

Since these cases are extremely isolated, it’s not likely that you will encounter any radio interference. Sometimes, location might affect the transmission like a rural or mountainous area due to a weak radio signal. You will notice that as you travel towards a more urban area that is equipped with stronger radio signals, the radio interference will greatly diminish.

Most people don’t have this issue so radio interference shouldn’t be much concern when purchasing LED angel eyes or an HID conversion kit. You can pretty much be assured that you probably won’t encounter an issue like this so you can enjoy your new lighting upgrades in peace.
