One of the premier short tracks in New England is the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine. The 1/3 mile asphalt oval track is known throughout the nation as one of the top 5 tracks. Each week over 150 drivers take to the track each week giving fans plenty of thrills and excitement. Beech Ridge is one of only 80 short tracks nation wide to earn NASCAR’s sanctioning rights.

From April to September each year the track hosts a variety of races throughout the week that include NASCAR Whelen All American Series, NASCAR Pro and Sport Series, Budweiser Sport Series, Day of Destruction Demolition and New England Antique Race. Thursday Thunder events include; Beetle Bug Car, Mighty Trucks, Legends and Ladies League. Car Wars brings your favorite CarToon characters to life and puts them on wheels where they battle it out in Monster Trucks, Demolition and even a Rocker Derby for the parents. Whiz Kids gives kids 8 to 15 the opportunity to race in 4-cylinder Compact cars and develop skills and gain experience.Tickets to week-day events start at $5.00 for adults and weekend events start at $10.00 for adults.

The Southern Maine Karting Company is a member of the World Karting Association and the club competes at the Beech Motor Speedway on Friday nights. The club is one of the largest and most successful with over 80 teams competing with drivers from 8 to 50 (plus) years old. Their goal is to provide safe, competitive family fun and to help kids develop good driving skills and reflexes. Whether you are a kart racer or just want to watch the fun, this is the place for you with tickets starting at $5.00 for adults.

The Oxford Speedway in Oxford is a 3/8 oval asphalt track that opened in 1950. The track has been a favorite of race fans in Maine for years. Their race season includes Late Models, Wild Sport Trucks, Renegade 6-cylinders, Spectator Drags, Outlaws, Strictly Stocks and much more. They run several special events each week that thrill fans and keep them coming back for more. Adult tickets to events start at $5.00 each.

Drag racing fans will enjoy the IHRA sanctioned Oxford Dragway located behind the Oxford Speedway. The track first opened in 1969 and offers three nights of racing from Thursday to Saturday each week. Their events include Jr. Dragster, Sled Drag, Ladies Drag, Motorcycle Mayhem, Motorcycle Drag, Modifieds, Street and a Nostalgia Series. They hosts several special race events throughout the year such as Armed Forces Day, Pet Labonte Memorial Race, Mopar Day, Big $Buck$Bracket$Bash and much more. Tickets to their events start at $5.00 for adults.
